Neem is also said to have an antipyretic effect, strengthen the immune system and help against fungi. In India, the leaves are often chewed to promote dental health or used for neem baths to transfer the healing active ingredients to the body.

Description

Neem leaf powder wild growth is obtained from the leaves of the neem tree (Azadirachta indica), which is native to India and Pakistan. It is an organic product that is finely ground and 100% natural.

Ingredients and properties

Neem leaf powder contains a variety of ingredients such as limonoids and azadirachtin, which are responsible for its antibacterial and antiviral properties. It is used in traditional Indian medicine as a panacea and offers a variety of external uses.

More than 100 active ingredients

Although the neem tree has been the subject of intensive research for decades, many of its active ingredients have still not been fully decoded. The most important ingredients include the powerful antioxidant quercetin and the antiviral limonoids nimbin, nimbidin and azadirachtin, which are responsible for the bitter taste of neem. Even Mahatma Gandhi is said to have drunk a cup of the tea every day to strengthen himself.

Azadirachtin, which was first isolated from the seeds of the rivet tree, plays a special role. After years of research, scientists succeeded in producing this complex substance synthetically. Azadirachtin protects the niem tree from harmful insects and is therefore also used as a biological insecticide.

It is estimated that the rivet tree contains over 100 different bioactive substances, which occur in different combinations depending on the part of the plant used. These substances give the tree a broad spectrum of activity.

Neem, also known as Azadirachta indica or neem tree, is a medicinal plant with a long history in Ayurvedic medicine. Originally from India, neem is now valued worldwide for its many uses. The plant provides leaves, bark, seeds and especially neem oil, all of which are used medicinally and cosmetically.

These ingredients are contained in the Niembaum (selection):

  • Azadirachtin
  • Nimbolinin
  • Nimbin
  • Nimbidine
  • Nimbidol
  • Sodium dimbinate
  • Gedunin
  • Salannin
  • Quercetin

Neem also contains a whole host of antioxidants, which help the body in particular as so-called radical scavengers.

Active ingredients and health benefits

Neem contains numerous bioactive compounds, such as azadirachtin, nimbidin and quercetin, which are responsible for its medicinal properties. These substances have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal effects. Neem is traditionally used to treat skin conditions such as eczema, acne and dandruff, as well as for digestive problems and to strengthen the immune system.

Neem oil against parasites

Scientific studies have shown that neem oil not only protects plants from parasites, but is also effective on humans and animals. Applied externally, it can successfully combat annoying parasites such as mites and lice.

In India, there are numerous Ayurvedic preparations for this purpose, some of which are now also available here. Alternatively, you can easily make such home remedies yourself. To do this, add a little neem to a shampoo. This mixture can then be used for grooming animals or, in the case of an infestation with lice, also for human hair. It is important to leave the washing solution to work for around 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing it out thoroughly.

Use

Neem leaf powder can be used internally as a vitality tea to reap its benefits. It can also be used externally to treat skin irritations or as a face mask. It can even be used as a shampoo for pets such as dogs and cats to get rid of pesky parasites.

Precautionary measures

Neem leaf powder has a very bitter taste and should therefore not be used as a flavoring in food, apart from tea. It should also not be consumed orally, unless mixed with water as a mouthwash.

Certification

The Neem leaf powder Wildwuchs is an organic product that is certified for its natural and environmentally friendly production.
