Home sun

100,00

An altitude sun is a device for generating ultraviolet radiation for therapeutic purposes, both for domestic use and in clinics and sanatoriums. Millions have already realized that there is nothing better for their bodies than being outdoors a lot, in the light, air and sun.
When the skin turns bronze-brown and the body literally radiates health, then people feel at their best and are at the height of their performance and strength.
However, not everyone has time for such extensive sunbathing and not everyone can afford to travel to the high mountains several times a year for high-altitude sun cures.
That’s where the home sun comes in!

Description

History

The high altitude sun, originally developed for artificial skin tanning and the treatment of skin problems such as acne, has a fascinating history of medical use.
These devices, which produce blue and ultraviolet radiation, have long been used for domestic use as well as in clinics and sanatoriums.
The ultraviolet radiation helps to fight bacteria and promotes the formation of vitamin D precursors in the skin.
Irradiation was even used in schools in the post-war period to tackle various health problems.
Since 1941, the high altitude sun has been a registered trademark of the renowned company Heraeus Noblelight.
Although it was once widely used, the high altitude sun has since been replaced by more modern devices in many places.
Nevertheless, its name remains synonymous with the targeted application of ultraviolet radiation for therapeutic purposes.
The term “artificial high-altitude sun” can presumably be traced back to the increased effect of the ultraviolet component of sunlight in mountainous regions.
These devices have made an important contribution to medical therapy and are a fascinating example of the development and use of technology in healthcare.

How should radiation be administered?

As soon as the “high altitude sun” burns brightly (approx. 3 minutes after switching on), the first exposure can be carried out.
Stand or sit in front of the lamp or, even more conveniently, lie down under it and let the alarm clock tick off for three minutes (to ensure the correct exposure time).
That’s enough for now.
As the eyes are sensitive to ultraviolet rays, you must wear protective goggles or keep your eyes closed during exposure.
There is no effect immediately after irradiation.
Only after 6 to 8 hours does a slight reddening of the skin appear, which turns into a healthy tan for most people after continued exposure.
