These berries grow wild in untouched forests and are characterized by their dark blue color both inside and out.
Compared to cultivated blueberries, they contain fruity and deep purple flesh due to their high anthocyanin content.
The wild blueberry powder from ingvi preserves this intense purple color as well as all the valuable ingredients, as it is not freeze-dried.

Why Finland of all places?

Arctic wild blueberries from Finland are smaller than cultivated blueberries and grow individually on branching bushes of 10 to 40 centimetres.
Finland has the world’s largest certified organic wild blueberry areas, as the berries thrive in the country’s untouched forests.
Arctic wild blueberries are known for their high content of polyphenols and antioxidants.
They contain more flavonoids and four times more anthocyanins than cultivated blueberries.
This high anthocyanin content is favored by the colder climate in Finland, where the sun shines for up to 19 hours in midsummer and does not set at all in the Arctic Circle.
Studies have shown that the abundant sunlight stimulates the formation of anthocyanin compounds, which leads to a particularly high anthocyanin content in Arctic blueberries.

The recipe makes 1 portionIngredients:

• 2 bananas
• 2 cups (1 cup is approx. 235 ml) fresh or defrosted wild frozen blueberries or 2 tbsp pure wild blueberry powder
• 1 cup crushed fresh coriander
• 1 teaspoon barley grass juice powder
• 1 teaspoon spirulina
• 1 tbsp Atlantic dulse
• 1 juiced orange
• 1/2 to 1 cup of water, coconut water or other freshly squeezed orange juice

Instructions:

1. Blend all ingredients except for the additional liquid in a high-speed blender until smooth.
2. Add water, coconut water or orange juice as required until the desired consistency is reached
3. Pour the smoothie and enjoy.
