Description
The components
This cream is 100% natural, unrefined and suitable for all skin types. The two versions of the cream consist of either shea butter, aloe and argan oil or shea butter, aloe and baobab oil. There are no other ingredients.
The positive effects of the ingredients are explained here:
Shea butter
A special feature that makes unrefined shea butter so valuable is its high concentration of so-called unsaponifiable components. This means that these molecules cannot be dissolved, i.e. “saponified”, by contact with water. These non-saponifiable components in butter are substances such as oleic acid, hydrocarbons, tocopherols or phytosterols. The latter in particular are of great benefit to your skin care: Phytosterols are a natural component of the skin’s own lipid layer and ensure that nutrients can be better absorbed from the outside. They also keep your skin elastic and compensate for a lack of moisture. In addition to these components, unrefined shea butter also has a range of other valuable ingredients. These include
- Allantoin: A breakdown product of uric acid, which has anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties.
Allantoin regenerates the skin cells and is a proven ingredient for treating skin irritations and wounds.
Allantoin is added to numerous skin creams. - Vitamin E: As an important antioxidant, it ensures that harmful substances are transported out of the body.
It can also slow down the ageing process of cells.
The body cannot produce vitamin E itself. - Beta carotene: As a secondary plant substance, it controls cell growth and also acts as a radical scavenger.
- Omega 3 fatty acids: Essential fats that regulate hormone levels and can reduce inflammation.
- Linoleic acid: Plant-based fatty acid that has skin-soothing properties and improves your skin’s moisture balance.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera also contains a range of vitamins that can be absorbed through the skin:
- Vitamin A: is important for the eyes, skin, bones and teeth, among other things
- Vitamin B1: plays a crucial role in the production of energy from carbohydrates and proteins.
As a phosphate donor, it is also involved in the transmission of stimuli and therefore plays an important role in the nervous system - Vitamin B2: important role for normal cell function, growth and development.
An undersupply causes changes to the skin and mucous membranes in particular - Vitamin B9 (folic acid): plays an important role in all growth and development processes, especially in the formation of blood, cells and genetic material.
It is therefore particularly important during pregnancy - Vitamin C: Vitamin C is primarily known as a free radical scavenger and antioxidant.
It eliminates aggressive free radicals that form in the body and sometimes have a negative effect. - Vitamin E: Due to its cell-protecting function, vitamin E is said to slow down ageing processes and protect against cancer and cardiovascular diseases
- And some minerals and trace elements
Argan oil
High-quality argan oil consists of at least 80 percent unsaturated fatty acids. The composition of the fatty acids is very balanced. Monounsaturated oleic acids and diunsaturated linoleic acid make up around 35 to 45 percent. Stearic acid and palmitic acid are also present. Argan oil also contains glycerides (triglycerides, diglycerides, monoglycerides and free fatty acids). Argan oil has a wide range of applications. Argan oil is considered a valuable anti-ageing agent and can help combat wrinkles. Antioxidants protect the skin from free radicals, for example due to its high vitamin E content. The oil also provides the skin with plenty of moisture and nutrients. Argan oil is therefore mainly used on the face, but there are many other possible applications. The oil is particularly effective for dry and flaky skin on the face and body. It nourishes it richly and provides it with plenty of moisture. Even rashes, dry eczema, psoriasis, neurodermatitis or acne are said to improve with the use of argan oil. Many sufferers therefore use it to support the treatment of their skin disease. However, talk to your doctor before using the oil for such skin conditions! Argan oil is also said to make the skin more flexible and elastic. It is therefore used to prevent stretch marks and is also said to help prevent and treat cellulite. Massage a small amount of oil onto your stomach every day! Argan oil can have a soothing effect on sunburn .
Baobab oil
The valuable active ingredients of the baobab tree can also have a very beneficial effect when applied externally. In particular, the oil extracted from the seeds of the baobab has proven to be very effective for various skin problems. Effect of baobab oil
Compared to other natural oils, the cold-pressed oil of baobab seeds contains an unusually high amount of palmitic acid and linoleic acid, which have a balancing and stabilizing effect on the skin. In addition to numerous vitamins, it also contains various secondary plant substances and in particular polyphenols, which have a moisturizing, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect. Baobab oil is therefore ideal for use on barrier-damaged skin that is prone to dryness and cracking.
Soft skin thanks to baobab oil
In the case of very dry skin, many conventional skin care products are ineffective, as although they generally have a moisturizing effect, the skin has lost the ability to bind moisture. This is usually due to the fact that the skin barrier layer lacks important fatty acids as a result of illness or age-related processes. Baobab oil can compensate for this deficiency thanks to its high palmitic acid content and strengthen the top layer of the skin without closing the pores. A light protective film on the surface of the skin locks in moisture, making the skin soft and supple again. As baobab oil is absorbed very quickly, it does not leave an unattractive greasy shine, as is the case with other oils.
