The olive has been an important foodstuff for thousands of years and is shrouded in myths and tales.
Some of the olive trees have reached an impressive age of more than 2500 years.
Vita Verde Classic organic olives from the Amfissa growing region in Greece are ripe and full-bodied.
Vita Verde only harvests the olives when they are ripe and black , i.e. in December to January.
Due to the long ripening period and the late harvest, i.e. the production process of natural drying on the tree, the olives lose weight as they lose liquid.
At the same time, they gain in flavor. This process makes it possible to produce the fruit without any denaturation, i.e. without destroying the natural biomolecular structure and guaranteeing raw food quality. This type of olive ‘shriveled’ on the tree is also called Thrumba olives in Greece.
Thrumba olives are a very authentic product – grown in a natural environment and pampered by the sun.
No heat treatment of any kind is used.
Classic organic olives are ideal as a snack between meals, but also go perfectly with classic Mediterranean dishes or salads.
The olives are refined with the Mediterranean spices oregano and basil, all from certified organic cultivation.
They can be used to make a wonderful tapenade, just like the classic olives, and the herbs already added give them a fantastic taste right from the start.
Of course, there are no limits to the flavor variations – on the contrary: the variations are almost limitless and can be varied according to personal taste.
The tapenade is finished off with a little olive oil and a delicious spread is ready. Short facts
